Social Modeling for Black Friday

Another Friday, another modeling session at HTG.  Today I made some progress on my Airfix Do17, cutting a hole in the fuselage for the in-flight stand insert.  Essentially a box I printed, sanding the connector to ensure it was a smooth fit.  Used a pea sized bit of Tamiya epoxy to fit it in and fair it.

The other model I worked on was my Italeri CANT 506 seaplane.  Fairing in the clear bits is a challenge for 2 reasons — 1) they’re clear and only so much damage can be tolerated, and 2) dust on the inside.  I wet sand as much as possible but sometimes a tiny bit gets in there.  I was able to get the bomb aimer’s windows and the ventral observer’s positions faired in using Tamiya putty.

I’d hoped to get some more done on my Airfix Beaufighter, but decided to end the session early and return home.  Chores await me…
