After quite a bit of sanding, filling, priming, and of course repeats of that process, I had a nice smooth waist area. However it’s now devoid of exterior detail like the panel lines and rivets.
The panel lines were easy as I’ve done those before, however I have not had much luck adding rivets other than the occasional handful. I needed to add as many rivets as the rest of the model! I pulled out my Trumpeter riveting wheel, used the wheel that most closely matched the existing spacing, and then practiced a bit on a mule. Hmm…easy enough. Now for the model.
After at least two sanding, priming, and re-riveting it finally looked good enough. Perfect? Absolutely not! But pretty good considering it was my first try.
A coating of Tamiya LP-38 Aluminum and the model is in the paint booth.
Thanks for looking…
