The 48 in 48 challenge was last weekend and is a worldwide fundraising event for Models For Heroes, a British charity that sends a box of starter tools and models to any first responder or veteran who asks. This is my second year participating and just like last time I was able to give. All the modeling podcasts participate and to some degree help sponsors the event by coordinating and/or providing kits and supplies.

The rules are simple — start a model no sooner than 7pm on Friday with the goal to finish it by 7pm Sunday. Time zones are ignored, discords are started and the modeling community around the world shares their builds while chatting with fellow modelers. The event is kicked off with a live stream via YouTube and kits are auctioned to raise funds.

While the event originated with build a “1/48 scale kit in 48 hours” this year any scale was acceptable to increase participation.

I chose a Tamiya 1/48 Citröen 11CV staff car. It was small, very few parts, yet will look good next the handful of 1/48 kits on my shelf. I didn’t quite finish, as the photo below shows. I chose to make a civilian variant, post war with a bit of color.

Thanks for looking…
