Now that I can focus more on my builds, I’ve started a few projects.
This is a kit I printed for my model railroad. One industry I want is a cement factory. Essentially a place where covered hoppers will deliver limestone from my limestone quarry. The railroad will also take full hoppers to the northern yard for further delivery to other locations. Empty hoppers will come from the same yard as well as the factory and then be delivered to the quarry. I do understand that I don’t have the rest of the factory that loads mixed cement onto trucks. I won’t worry too much about that as this is for fun, not realism.
Printing was quick as there weren’t a lot of parts. I used polylactic acid or PLA, a plastic that is inexpensive and easy to work with on my Prusa MK4S filament printer. This is what I purchased the printer for last year.

I tried a number of cements, but none actually welded the plastic so I ultimately settled on cyanoacrylate (superglue). Not much progress yet, as the next step is sanding.

Thanks for looking…
