Inventories…

What have I completed?

I was surprised to find that most have been blogged, but even more surprised by how many I’ve completed.  Unfortunately there are quite a few models for which no record exists other than my memory and I think I’ll try to identify as many as possible and then at a minimum, list them.

Cabinet of doom

Like most modelers I also have a stash.  Last count it had 500+ kits in it and while I’m updating Scalemates as I buy new ones I don’t always update it to reflect completed kits.  I should.

So how many are there?

Well, let’s see:

  • 264 Completed.  To be fair a dozen of these need to be repaired.  Mainly because moving them about has damaged something like a tailwheel or rigging.
  • 70 Work in progress.  Yeah, you read that right.  As I was looking at these I realized I needed to bin those I know I’ll never actually finish.  A handful of these are also “broken in transit” models that were damaged during my last move (20 years ago!).
  • 741 Stash.  This is according to Scalemates, and of course I filtered out conversions and accessories.  However I’m not quite sure if it includes completed kits, or not. Scalemates says I have 121 completed, and 32 started.  In my view, those are subsets of the above numbers, so I don’t want to count them twice.
  • 110 Blogged.  There are 4 more in draft.  Plus I write about some thoughts, and works in progress that I’m not counting against my “completed blog” count unless it has the pictures of the completed model in that post.
More WIP awaiting added attention — these are a priority.

Additionally, some of those kits in my stash are models I’ll never likely build, such as 3x Revell 1/96 Cutty Sark, or 3x USS Hornet carriers (2 kits were picked up cheap at a swap meet for the aircraft).

Summary

So…150 posts just to catch up.  Yikes!  Well, fun stuff and all.
